Teeth

I have been so busy recently that the blog has been neglected a little. Natalia has been a busy little girl. She is very interested in her friend Lola. When she sees Lola she laughs which is really cute. She still isn't crawling yet. She gets up on her hands and knees and rocks. She is getting very good at scooting. She can pull herself along the floor to pretty much any place she wants to go. I had her on the floor yesterday while I was taking a test and found her a couple minutes later half-way across the floor under a chair.

I finally got a picture of her two little teeth that are coming in. I can't believe she's getting teeth and is going to be 6 months on Monday. We are very excited for her to start eating food. Each day she gets more personality and smiles more. With her added personality she also gets more frustrated by things. When she gets tired she fights sleep for as long as she can.

Facts about 5 month old Natalia

Fact 1: Baby Natalia is getting her first tooth. If you rub your finger along her bottom gums you can feel the right front tooth coming in.

Fact 2: She can almost sit on her own. She can sit up using her Boppy pillow, but she is almost there on her own.

Fact 3: She cannot figure out why her legs don't work like she wants them to. If she is lying on the floor and she wants to follow us or Lola, you see her kicking her legs like she is swimming trying to get to you. If she is in her farm it is though she is running in place as she moves her legs trying to move. She tries to crawl. She can get her legs underneath her but cannot push herself forward. She manages to somehow pull herself across the floor with her arms as well as use her arms to scoot backwards.

Fact 4: She doesn't understand why Lola doesn't want to play with her. Lola gets really close and sniffs Talia's head, but as soon as Talia reaches out to touch her Lola is gone.

Fact 5: She can drink out of a sippy cup. She has this fascination with cups and glasses. When she sees you drinking she tries to get her hands on whatever you are drinking out of.

Fact 6: She loves things that she sees other people using. I can barely text Jon back during the day if Talia is in my lap because once she gets her little hands on my phone it is almost impossible to get it back. Another thing she really likes are remotes. She can't push the buttons on the remote for the television, but if she gets a hold of the TiVo remote she can change all kinds of things.

Fact 7: She has been giggling for a while now, but she has started to really laugh. She laughs if you tickle her and sometimes when Jon kisses her on the cheek.

Fact 8: She gets distracted by anything and everything.

Fact 9: She likes to see pictures of herself on the computer. She also likes to watch videos of herself.

Fact 10: After her pool experience she now knows how to splash in the tub during bath time.

That's all she wants me to share with you. I have to stop now because she is trying to get her little hands on the touchpad and keyboard as well as trying to suck on the computer.

Morning Nap

This morning I went to go check on Natalia because she was playing in her crib. We can't leave her on the couch anymore because she will roll off, so I decided while I was working on my homework she could stay in her crib. Talia has a baby photo album that you can put picutures in, but she can still drool and chew on the pages. I found her asleep on a picture of her and her daddy.

Photo update

Not too much is new with us. Summer goes on, Jon works, I do my work for school, and Talia continues to grow. This post is mainly just new photos of Natalia.

Natalia is so peaceful when she sleeps. We have so many pictures of her napping. She fusses around, plays with her toys, and hides under her blanket as she falls asleep. When I went to check on her one day this is how I found her.

She is also becoming more aware of Lola. As Talia moves around more, Lola gets more and more nervous.

Talia is 4 months old!

Natalia is already 4 months old. It's so hard to believe. She had her 4 month check-up yesterday with Pat. She is now 24 1/2 inches, 14 lbs. 8 oz., and her head circumference is 16 1/4 inches. She did better with the shots this time than two months ago. I gave her some Tylenol before her shots and throughout the day which helped. Pat could tell that Talia was a smart baby, which we already knew, but it is still nice to hear. She told me that most babies just take cat naps and we are very lucky that Talia naps for an hour or two and sleeps through the night. She says that Talia is the baby that everyone wants. She also told me that babies develop stranger anxiety between 4-6 months so we'll have to see how that turns out. We are very happy that she is still a healthy little girl who is growing well.
